It’s not a secret: Paris is my favorite city. And it was the first time that I really took some of my time to contemplate a beautiful sunset over Paris, “The City of Light”. I took more than 200 pictures in a few hours. Here’s four pictures. No filter, no edit.
A walk about Paris will provide lessons in history, beauty, and in the point of Life. – Thomas Jefferson
Adriana: I can never decide whether Paris is more beautiful by day or by night. – From “Midnight in Paris”.
Gil: No, you can’t, you couldn’t pick one. I mean I can give you a checkmate argument for each side. You know, I sometimes think, how is anyone ever gonna come up with a book, or a painting, or a symphony, or a sculpture that can compete with a great city. You can’t. Because you look around and every street, every boulevard, is its own special art form and when you think that in the cold, violent, meaningless universe that Paris exists, these lights, I mean come on, there’s nothing happening on Jupiter or Neptune, but from way out in space you can see these lights, the cafés, people drinking and singing. For all we know, Paris is the hottest spot in the universe. – From “Midnight in Paris”.
Paradoxically, the freedom of Paris is associated with a persistent belief that nothing ever changes. Paris, they say, is the city that changes least. After an absence of twenty or thirty years, one still recognizes it. – Marguerite Duras.
Paris is always a good idea. – Audrey Hepburn.
